It is funny you say that because that is how it feels when you are up there.
Roraima is in south west side of Venezuela near the Brazilian border and it is one of many "Tepuis" or table top mountains of which the animals and plants evolved differently from the species below.
So you have black frogs who do not hop, they crawl. Black rat like creatures and black birds.
The creeks on the top are filled with crystals and there are jacuzzi like areas in the creeks.

Arthur Conan Doyle based his book "The Lost World" on Roraima. It tells the story of an expedition which finds prehistoric life on a huge plateau on a mountain.
Sadly we did not encounter any dinosaurs, but there is a huge, deep cave in the middle of the plateau which apparently has not been explored fully yet...
