I replaced my ICQ with skype over 4 years ago now ... I sent out a mass broadcast to all my ICQ clients stating that I had lost all confidence in ICQ after being hacked, and for my own security, and the security of my clients, I would only be available on Skype (and of course email and 1-800 phone number) ...
I have not opened ICQ in over 4 years, and I do not miss it one bit ...
