The apostle Paul - his message (albeit later twisted and perverted for hundreds of years to further political agendas) transformed the world. Even avowed Marxist and secularist Jurgen Habermas concedes that much of the modern notion of equality was forged from the philosophical foundations of Judaism and Christianity.
Mahatma Gandhi - he showed that standing up for your principles equipped only with your integrity and will can make great things happen. Was he perfect? Absolutely not. Does the world need his message of non-violent resistance and change through principled action? Indisputable.
Martin Luther King - although Abernathy did indicate that he had feet of clay and not quite the infallible legend the mass media and civil rights establishment portray him to be, his legacy cannot be overstated. He showed that real transformation can be done by appealing to the humanity of people and that people UNITED against injustice can do great things.
