In 2002 the year he was in the Super Bowl he won the league MVP, was selected to the pro bowl, won the NFL Alumni QB of the year award, was the AFC player of the year and was the Pro Bowl MVP. I would say he was a little more than an average QB. Yes, he stunk it up in the Super Bowl that year, but his career was well above average.
