A ?Girls Gone Wild" photo shoot was raided Wednesday by Los Angeles police and its producer was arrested on suspicion of filming without a permit.
The unidentified producer was detained on a misdemeanor charge of commercial filming without a permit and released at the scene of the production being shot at a home on Vulcan Drive in the Mount Olympus area of the Hollywood Hills.
LAPD Cmdr. Andy Smith told the Los Angeles Times that about 30 people ? including many in bikinis ? were involved in the production when police showed up.
The home had been rented by a man who apparently was subletting it to filming companies, Smith said.
In this instance, the home had been allegedly rented to ?Girls Gone Wild? in a production called "Search for the Hottest Girl in America."
According to a report, an LAPD helicopter hovered over the shoot and "observed some activity in the backyard of this house that was either illegal or some some act that needed to be permitted."
Smith said that filming in the city ?needs to be permitted and not detrimental to the community.?
?It doesn?t matter if you're 'Girls Gone Wild' or Cecil B. DeMille, you need a permit to film,? Smith said.
