Your absolutely right, if she wasn't mentally ill or an alcoholic you wouldn't get the kids.
She has to basically be on crack or turning tricks for the judge to give the father custody.
And believe this, if she goes through rehab and gets on meds and files a motion to get the kids back, she'll get them, no questions asked.
It happens every day.
