I hear you, in the beginning I came home with a lot of out of focus shots, even with the GH1. The GH2 has the crop sensor function which converts pixels one on one so you don't lose any sharpness, but you work with a smaller sensor that way, so your focal length increases (wide angle becomes less wide) and your depth of field increases too (so the focussed area gets wider). The handheld cam I use in cropped mode most of the time because I'm close to the models where DOF normally only gets tighter. Also when switching from/to cropped mode you basically get two focal lengths on a prime lens. The downsize is that you have to stop recording when changing the sensor mode. I hope they fix this in the GH3.
Search for the GH2 on both Amazon and eBay, you'll find some very good deals and you will never regret it.
