Unless you consider Jason as a friend and DH as just another guy, you made a grave mistake "passing on the word". Just my opinion.
If two people you regard as friends/buddies talk trash about one another or even if only one side does that, you should keep silent on that. Its their problem. If you wanted, you could hint to Jason that you think DH got the wrong impression about him and maybe they should meet up - that is assuming you care about making peace between the two.

As to the domain name issue... I know you are a good guy and I also know you are a sensitive guy.. So you should have known that this subject is something you should approach with more care ESPECIALLY after you "ran and tell" Jason what DH said about him.. You should have expected DH not to act like fonzey about that...

Unless you thought its an idea that you both own and created you should have approached him with somethign like
"DH, listen, I really think the domain/idea you talked about the other day is good and worth doing. I was wondering if you are doing anything with it, in which case I would be happy to take part.. OR alternatively, if you have no intentions doing anything with it, would it be ok with you if I picked up the idea?"

If someone gets angry with you after such a question I would say that someone is a dick.
You have to be careful when handling issues of intelectual property, ideas and money. People tend to take that shit offensively.

My personal stand of that matter is that, there are so many ideas out there and enough good ones that its best to stay away from friction and contraversy. Whenever in doubt about such matters, just move on.

That being said, I think there is no reason flaming about anything but just talk like adults and come to an agreement between you.

Bashing you on GFY will get DH nowhere since you already told the story (unless we miss a crucial piece of the story ;)) since wise people can guess how DH see's the same story from his point of view.
