Ashlyn the shares chart with a traffic chart. Perhaps you have a peaky traffic source. Also compare to a chat of server response time. Cheap hosting may well have inconsistent speed. I've be looking at traffic first, though.
Seeing only the one chart, I don't know if perhaps a certain illusion or common misconception might be getting you. If sales came in at completely random times, they would not be evenly spread out. Some intervals would have a lot of sales and some none if they were random. In other words, random appears to form clusters, especially if there are few data points per interval.
