First of all I would almost guarantee that the reason you looked into Ron Paul is because he would stop the war on weed.
Aside from that, I have been interested in politics from the time I was 14 and the economy for a good 14+ years now. I have researched more on these topics than most and am not talking out of my ass.
I like Ron Paul as a person. I like that his racist ass has told the truth most of the time for 20+ years. I like that he wants to end the war abroad and the war on drugs and I like that he is consistent.
What I don't like is that he is one crazy motherfucker. No, ending the fed at this point would not be all kittens and rainbows and even RON HIM MOTHERFUCKING SELF has said that he couldn't do everything that he would want because it is so ingrained into our way of life that it would be devastating. Andrew Jackson could have been 100% right but the same statement be 100% wrong today.
Then this stupid motherfucker wants to leave a lot of important shit up to the states. Hey poor people from some backwards ass southern town, too bad for you but now Religion will be the only topic in school, abortions will be illegal and if you can't afford to move you can go fuck yourself!
On top of that, he wants to let the free market handle a bunch of shit that NO FREE MARKET IN THE HISTORY OF EVER has handled properly. This corporation pollutes our water? So what, a competitor will come along and not pollute and if people want clean water the polluting one will lose all of their business! This bank wants to rob the country of trillions? So what? Another bank will come along and surely the unwashed masses are smart enough to move all of their money over to the "good" bank and make the bad one that raped them silly close up shop. From your comments here I can tell you, you need to do some fucking research. Go look at just what Ron Paul has suggested then look at the consequences to those actions both immediate and long term. I didn't want to get into more than saying "he's crazy" because there are literally HUNDREDS (thousands?) of things that this crazy bastard wants to do and most of them absolutely suck.
I even made it clear in one of my first posts that I wouldn't even mind him being President but ONLY because Congress would never let him do the insane shit he has been proposing for 20 years.
