The vast majority of dogs aren't suitable to be trained to do it either.
It's worth noting that it's a different response than protecting a person, dogs will be a lot more likely to step up to defend what they consider to be their pack, but unless you threaten them specifically property won't rank anywhere near as high of priority for them. That's just the simple truth.

yeah very true here.. but more often than not a good scary sounding bark will deter most people, unless they know dogs well anyway.
