a german shepherd...they do it often
deer are stupid..the dog just matches speed and leans their head in and breaks a leg with one quick bite
or often the deer injures itself in its own frenzy to get away...and is then easy prey.
i had never seen her chase down a deer...however that is what the game warden told us she was doing.
i have seen her chase a full sized moose though, and it took off running and ran by me at full speed...with her at its heels
