Free Hosted Galleries - trial and error you wouldn't expect - a shame
While some sponsors know how to make the FHGs, know how to push their product through them, know how to design them and do just what one expects from a group of people runing a big business, some simply, to my big amazement, don't.
The biggest cost involved in FHGs is hosting. If that is so why is it then that some of the big ones make so crappy galleries? Lack of marketing experience? Lack of money sure can't be the case. People make very good galleries for nothing today. Look at the Gallery People for example. Yet no. Some need to do them inside the house with 0 experience in TGP marketing.
Some FHGs are so bad that if I didn't know, I would say a newbie made them and laugh at them. Then it shocks you a well known respected sponsor made them. It might be true these sponsors are good at one thing but when it comes to making good galleries I really wonder what makes it so hard to hire a professional gallerymaker to do the job.
And the case goes on... Half of those who offer FHGs are deleting them without notice. That's a good one. LOL. A million dollar approach towards TGPs. Yeah baby. You would expect a newbie get rich quick overnight wannabe doing that, but when one comes from a well known sponsor you really have to ask yourself who's playing trial and error here. I, because I was 100% sure their stuff is quality or them learning the TGP marketing basics?
I guess it's just the same with regular gallerymakers and sponsors. We have both, ones worth gold and ones being idiot newbies. Only what's confusing here is that some of these sponsors are in the biz for quite some time and are well respected.
How come they can afford making idiot newbie mistakes?
On the end it's not who they are, it's how they convert, so being "well respected" or "being in the biz since before Christ" means shit if they can't convert their galleries. Shame.
