its not hard to do, if you drink a lot. If you drink to the point of being drunk all the time - over a period of say a week, you no longer really goto sleep / goto bed for any long period of time...
Therefore you drift in and out of consciousness all the time, and as such are pretty much lucid dreaming whenever you fall asleep, even for a few moments.
Top Tip? Try not to drive your car while doing this.
