For women it cuts both ways, and I don't feel it's unique to this industry. In dating I've always straddled the fence and you deal with it it in mainstream too.
It's not like the 50's where there's a glass ceiling, but the ladies do have their own set of additional obstacles. That's why I find the few frauds we've had here so personally offensive.
