It's not if the current asteroid hits or not that causes issue, it's if it comes close enough to affect earth in any way that is a problem - magnetosphere, gravitational pull, earthquakes, etc.

The Magnetosphere is generated by the earths core and would not be affected by passing bodies like this. It doesn't have enough mass and would not cause earthquakes either.
