Just as the hamster sees us as a no more than a giant hand reaching in to bring food and occasionally a bath or other "unpleasantness", just as warped is our perception of that energy some of us call God.

I don't know any more about the afterlife than the hamster knows about the internet, but I suspect we will then understand something that makes space and time seem infinitesimally small.
