Wrong.
Cops get a ticket quota from their boss, which comes from the government. Governments base all their actions on one factor: Is there money to be made.
So they go out of their way to write tickets where ever it's possible while forgetting why cops were invented in the first place: to protect and to serve. Ofcourse they do some good things, but the majority is getting cash for the government.
Speed trap poles at 2 in the morning on an empty road.
Police officer sitting on his ass for 5 hours straight, sipping coffe in a civilian car, next to a mobile speed trap to keep an eye on it that nobody is demolishing that electronic pocket picker for the government.
Especially here in NL everyone sees cops this way, and that point of view is not based on hot air.
