And as for kicking US butts. Bullshit. GPS is here now and working just fine, Gallileo is late and still years away, massively over budget and for non military uses at least, duplicating something that already exists. Thats the kind of sucess I'm sick of paying for.

One thing that annoys the hell out of me is anyone taking the time to tell me from the outside what a wonderful thing the EU is, despite not having the faintest clue what it is, which countries are in it or why it's completely and utterly undemocratic.

but the difference between gps and this is that its going to be spot on.

gps is spot on, but the usa goverment has it set up to be slightly off for security reasons. they objected to the eu version.

it will be interesting to see if the usa alows gps to be 100% spot on or leave it as it is.

i think the idea is for this system and gps to work together.

trhere is a security issue. under a war the usa can switch gps off, so making it pointless for missile use. but this system could mean its used on misiles.
