I have always been super hard on my fingernails, and they just don't grow for me. I've thought about going fake... but it does so much damage, it's a big committment.
I stick with pedicures.
Oh, I tried stick-on nails and couldn't take my contact lenses out of my eyes until I melted two back off! it was awful!!
