Even a low budget part time PI like me can see what you're up to, though. Hell, decades ago a popular magazine included a simple circuit to display the image on any computer monitor from a car parked outside. Your monitor's cable and electronics work like an antenna, broadcasting whatever is being sent to the screen.

There's no lack of methods to spy on people. Your defense lies in the Constitution and leaders who respect it, especially judges. On this point, reverence for the Constitution, the Tea Party people are right. Government has long had the tools available to watch people who don't spend a lot of effort on counter surveillance. We are protected only by the poltical will to see that these tools are used appropriately and that we appoint judges who respect the law rather than find new ways of "interpreting" the law.
