Depends on how much of a gamble you're willing to take. Wanna be a disposable lacky asking for work on GFY? Get a job, benifits... A year or two later, bye-bye!
Or would you rather be in control of your own destiny?
Although I would not rule out doing work for other companies (I've done it before), I'd rather die than rely on strangers for my livelihood. I'm not good at doing what strangers ask me to do.
