Bush tax cuts mixed with rampant international investment created a scenario where the world was awash in dollars. Clinton created a surplus (remember that?) and was set to buy back long treasuries. For a while, the long bond didn't exist. Then that idiot Bush decided to obligate us to creditors to the tune of 2 trillion fighting in Iraq while our real enemy hid out in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also decided to ask us to borrow money rather than pay taxes. In the end, you pay more borrowing to pay your bills than just paying your bills. He created a deficit of over 6 trillion, and the largest expense became the interest on that debt. One small downturn later, tax revenue declines and we can't pay the interest without borrowing more, a vicious cycle. Let's examine what one bearded psycopath did by giving fools like Dubya their head:
he spent 500k and 20 losers (and in the end thank god lost his dumb life)
he gave dubs the rationale to spend 2 tril in Iraq
he gave us the rationale to give up our cherished freedoms
he gave us the rationale to created the department of homeland security, a bloated mess
he gave us the idea that feeling up little girls in an airport made us more secure
he gave us the rationale to throw our weight around the rest of the world, saying shit like "if you're not with us you're against us" which evaporated any positive sentiment
I'm glad the stupid sack of shit is dead at the bottom of the ocean. But the evangelist moron we had for a president has been followed by a socialist who so desperately wants to be 100% black that he'll pay any amount of American money to have AA approval. He and Bush approved the 700b bailout. They both expanded the military infrastructure, mostly with contractors. They both started conflicts without congressional approval. They both spent tons of money with no purpose. They both had high ratings with their base (evangelists and blacks) and disappointed the rest of their parties. Neither one ever met a check they didn't want to write, as long as it was with someone else's money. Evangelists never gave up on Bush (it was the devils fault) and Blacks will never give up on Obama (guess who bears the fault).
What we need again is someone who was born poor and fought their way up, who wasn't given everything because of their rich daddy or their skin color. No more messiahs, just a hard working pragmatist who cares a little bit about people, and we'll be fine.
