Ford Focus is 59mpg anything rated 4.8l/100km is about 58/59mpg. You could probably get more if you can coast it. Don't buy a Manual and you will get better fuel economy aswell most probably. Not sure if true, but manual is just stupid in this day and age anyway unless you plan on going off-road.
Actually it's always the other way around, manual = less fuel consumption. Automatic = more fuel spent per mile.

At least in EU cars haha
