War sucks, the exchange of lives to better our lives sucks. But add in a little self greed, and pointless it isn't... the war machine produces money and has improved your life in ways you may not realize.
Such as, the battery life in phones and portable devices have greatly improved in the last "few generations of devices" - ie: very short period of time - while making the cost go down, which is what kept the device cost up. This is a direct result of the war and the minerals found in Afghan. As well, the rebuilding of Iraq by our Corps and its currency being allowed to hit the world market, which America owns a shit tons of. While it's already in the works, if the end result happens, it can be a major boost for U.S. corps and even the gov.
If you stop the war, the spending may stop, but the gdp it produces will go with it. If the economy isn't able to counter the loss, the loss may create a larger gap than the current massive spending does, add in a loss of 'personal' luxury, and you have to ask yourself - are you really ready to end it?
