Keyword research plays a vital role when starting a website, because choosing the correct keywords to rank for in search engines can mean you will get a lot of traffic or much less traffic!
So when you are doing keyword research in Google keyword tool, always tick the EXACT amount of searches, by default it is set to BROAD. Broad numbers are very inflated are not a real indicator how much traffic you might be getting when you get to the top.
Exact searches are a much better indicator of the amount of traffic you might get from a certain keyword, so always use exact searches when doing you keyword research ;)
