The downside is that if you need to allow embeds of your content you'll have to use an iFrame instead of an Object solution. I've been working on my own tube script for over a year now. Mine encodes everything to h.264 in a .mp4 container and uses bitrate switching to provide the best experience to everyone.

I don't use flash...ever.
