Just because I did what was the right thing (also legally) does not make me a bad dog owner - to the contrary.

Perhaps you were in the right and I was quick to assume. It just seemed from your initial post, at least its the picture i painted based on those words, that he ankle bit someone and it wasnt to be dealt with.
my apologies if you took offense as you can see I seem a little offended by the picture i painted myself.
That had to be one crazy scene watching a spaniel bounce around tasting on kids. The law isnt that clear here though BTW. personally witnessed numerous bitings not lead to them being put down. In fact ive only heard of that action. Ive seen 5 y/o bit in the face too. Thankfully it wasnt that bad and shes very beautiful today. To me, its virtually never as easy as " oh the dog it someone, it needs put down"
Dogs usually bite for a reason. Just as they HAVE to respect us, we should also respect them and their s a smidge too to prevent these things.
For instance. My dog...
Nicest dog ever, very well behaved, a puss really. Sure you hear everyone say that, but its beyond true here. A friend came over with his younger daughter, id say 4. She walked around him and I think stepped on his tail. He did not bite her. but her snapped at her. with some weird bark grunt. NEVER have I ever seen him do that or anything like it. now, I never let him around small ones anymore. I have no fear of him hurting anyone, but I will not risk him ever doing that again. He always goes outside or in a room when little ones come over.
