YOu should if anything just secluded your pet until he died of age or cause. You must not have had much love for your pet if thats all it took. Its not a guts or intellect move there, not in my book. It was a "I dont have the time or love to deal with this situation." Either way, it wasnt the, IMO, right thing to do.
