Lets try and make this really big leap of inteligence....
To think about reasons why something happens - Does NOT mean you support it.
Is that to difficult to grasp?
Now if someone just calls people names, they are scum, idiots, Muslims, drug dealers, etc
That is a process of de humanization. You moving the idea of understanding and empathy.
They become the enemy.
Then you are able to kill them.
This is what fascists do.
The reason why "The Wire" was a truly great program was that it showed its characters as true human beings, complex and difficult to understand. In that program it explained the processes that make people riot, deal in drugs and crime.
If you really want to stop something, you have to understand it. Rubber bullets, shoot to kill will make it worse.
