with respect, IMHO it is not about the constitution at all, but corporate sponsorship of our government. It is no longer a government of, by and for the people but one that will continually be more and more paid for by the true 'special interests' in the background. The Tea Party means well, all these activists on both sides means well. However they are under some strange delusion that somehow we will return to whatever sense of normality they think the 'real America' should be. There is no turning back without dramatic political change and the fact of the matter (as I see it) is the days of dramatic political change is long gone.

I now equate all politicians ( well with a few exceptions I am sure) as sponsored drama queens. We seem to relish loud mouthed, angry, sound bite spouting idiots that have no respect what so ever for the public they claim to serve. So that is exactly what they are giving us, massively partisan political theater sponsored by Coke. I think that the politicians should be required to wear NASCAR style fire-suits so we can see the logos of the corporate sponsors and root for our favorite ones.

You and I are probably on opposite ends of the political spectrum and even though I positively drip Liberalism and think Bernie Sanders is AWESOME (what up) I can respect that there are people out there that can be both in disagreement with me and be correct and the onus is on me to take the time and weigh those opinions to see if there is truth in them. Congress cannot seem to do that and it dooms this society to decline.

So while saying that it is about the constitution sounds pleasant and something we can all wrap our arms around the facts are the constitution lays out a standard but it is the issues not specifically listed in it but under governmental powers that is the source of debate.
