Hi Mike,
For the transatlantic leg of your travels that is most likely correct. Heathrow is the big transatlantic hub. For your flights within Europe, it really does not make too much of a difference which of the five London airports (Heathrow, Stanstad, Luton, Gatwick, City) you fly into, as they are all located in the middle of nowhere (besides the City one), and it will take you in any case forever to get into the city
