[QtUOTE=bossku69;18320623]I have a 2005 Tahoe Z71 in good condition. Has a year left of full warranty (bought extended from dealer) and have someone who made me a good offer on it.

Since I bought it, I've been putting it to good use, but found myself asking to borrow my friends truck (F250) a few times to get things, like a snow blower, lawn mower, etc. I have an "every day car" that my gf will mainly drive and we use the Tahoe for picking stuff up, football tail gating, etc.

I'm considering buying a truck (crew cab), specifically one with a lift kit. First because I think it looks nice and 2nd I want people to say "oh shit, watch out for this asshole"

Im in between a truck or getting a larger SUV with 3rd row seats. I don't have a 3rd row now, my Tahoe only has 2 because of the sport package. I'm considering an Yukon XL or Escalade ESV. However, thinking of plans in the future, a truck might be better as I am working on redoing a lot yof my property with landscaping and renting a lot of equipment to tear up my lawn.

Anyone made the switch from SUV to truck and happy? Likewise, is it better to buy a "regular" truck and lift it myself or buy one already with the kit?[/QUOTE]
Make sure your insurance company will cover a lifted truck. I know state farm as an example wont cover vehicles that have been modified from stock ride height unless you purchase some ridiculously overpriced additional coverage. You could of course not tell them but all bets are off if you actually get in an accident and need to file a claim
