It makes no difference value or seo wise, if you use a sub domain or new domain. If you use a sub-domain, don't take down that sub-domain or sponsor, setup a new sub-domain if you setup a new sponsor. Members will return to them, like a paysite, don't disconnect them from what they purchased. - This is why I go with sub-domains, however I have plenty of normal domains setup on mobile as well.
