Forbes magazine recently released its list of the top 50 most valuable sports franchises in the world, and all 32 NFL teams made the cut. The Dallas Cowboys ranked second, valued at $1.81 billion. Manchester United was first, at $1.86 billion.

Consider for a moment: Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys in 1989 for $150 million. By 2001, Forbes estimated they were worth $743 million. Tack on a billion dollars over the last decade and here we are today.
