That's effectively the same outcome thou isnt it? Instead of worrying about getting qualified traffic sources to pump clicks to the project they are willing to pay a buck a join.. should be about 1/5000 with the current setup. So a dollar for 5000 targeted hits.. plus the moneys pent on skinning GFY sounds like a good deal for them.
As a surfer I would never even look past the first cam. A quick skim shows ads and a console on landing. Ok, if I could get past that I would chuckle at all the video streams passed off as live cams and close the window.
The ONLY cam chat site that's worth it's salt is the original cam4 (albeit full of prostitots looking for tokens now and not about fun and actually getting laid anymore) and camfuze. Too bad neither has an affiliate program that can be taken seriously.
