Seems they never "get away" by going straight ahead on the merry go round. Ya got to get crazy and innovative and somehow ditch your car and/or yourself...
I once ditched a "procession" behind me in a high speed chase. True. Many years ago.
Tore off at about 90-100 in a muscle car. Got a lead. Turned off the lights. I said get crazy. After about 3 miles came into a small town of 2000.
Immediately went left and over one block and parked in the middle of the road wondering what to do. Me and my bud. Suddenly the procession goes barreling by a block over. None of them looked left.
Was in clear view but one block over.
Two days later Sheriff knocks on door. I had a very rare car. Looked up every car in the state.
That was the short version.
Many years ago.

Never got anything out of it. Sheriff left and that was that.
Never lost a race but ONCE - 440 dodge charger fully built with trip deuces just nipped me at the line.
