Just finished watching. Never looked into their family history much except of assassination, looks like it was built by their father, the main man behind it all, it's even mentioned in a final scene... in short, Greg Kinnear did it very well playing Jack and Barry Pepper playing Bobby... GREAT series, I recommend.
