Here is what you need to do.

Use TITLE, KEYWORD and DESCRIPTION Meta tags, but use them properly. Don't stuff these with too much data, and whatever data you do us, keep it relevant. Don't use SHOES in your words if you sell BUTTER.

The TITLE of your page should be the TITLE of your page. If your site sells shoes, your title should be SHOES | We've got amazing shoes!

The KEYWORDS of your site should be words relevant to your site and to the title as well. If you sell shoes, your keywords should be words like Running Shoes, Adidas, Nike, etc.

The DESCRIPTION of your site must be a plain-english description of your site, written to be easily read by a HUMAN. "Click here to visit our incredible shoe site!" The description will appear right below your Title on Google. If you try to stuff it with keywords like "Shoes Shoes Shoes Shoes", humans will know its bullshit, and then click on someone elses link, even if yours appears higher on the page (which it probably won't if you do tricks like this)

Use the H1 and H2 tags to define the Headers of your site. If your site is about SHOES then H1 might be "We have great shoes!" followed by <h2>Nike Shoes</h2> and then later on, <h2>Adidas Shoes</h2> etc.

Use the ALT tag to describe your images. img src = "myimage.jpg" alt = "Cool new Shoes by Nike" for example.

There are other tags you can use as well but not all of them have as much relevance as the tags above. Some outdated ones may be ignored completely.

There are lots of places to get info like this but the best is Google itself. Google has a huge section on how to make pages that will be properly indexed by Google, and their rules apply for the other search engines as well such as Bing.

The SEO rules are fairly simple to learn. Take the time to do this yourself and you'll save alot of money and even get better results.
