AVS systems like AdultCheck were at the forefront of porn - requiring a cc or checking account in order to PROVE the surfer was at least 18 years of age, before viewing porn.

I don't know how or why that changed, but I do know that ANYONE can now view ANY PORN they want, intentionally, or accidentally, at ANY age - and the proliferation of same, via all of the fucking huge tube sites out there, does nothing to diminish the problem.

If I had a 12 year old daughter I would be very concerned by what she sees online, and how it will effect her life.

Obviously I am playing a bit of devil's advocate here, but you can bet new online porn/obscenity laws will be introduced in the near future.

I hope the .XXX extension does not become the new AVS, but it can certainly happen.
