Excellent point. I remember one instance earlier this year where someone said a sponsor had charged her for a 'bonus' membership, that their customer service had given her the run around when she had disputed the charge (without indicating that she was a webmaster), and that her stats gave a clear indication that the program was shaving.
Then she asked - "What would you do if you found yourself in a similar situation ?"
The same post was on every board I check and she never called out the sponsor on any of them despite the fact that the sponsor was simultaneously fucking over their affiliates and their customers. When accounting for the fact that mistakes can happen, it's more than likely the sponsor was either fucking over one or the other, but broken window theory logic suggests they were likely fucking over both.
She never called them out.
One benefit of GFY in such instances, though, is that there is enough activity to where annoying threads will get buried quicker than on other boards. It seemed like the above post was towards the top of other boards for weeks and it annoyed the hell out of me every time I saw it.
