He was convicted unanimously by a jury. Claiming it was because of his previous acquittal is a stretch.

That's not how our justice system works, (even though it seems reasonable).
There was a lot of evidence and a long drawn-out investigation before he was ultimately tried and convicted.
There is some controversy that he may have been setup in-regards to the video evidence, but it's just that, controversy. In the end, people have been convicted with a lot less evidence.

OJ was even granted a rare "after-the-fact" hearing in supreme court 3 years after he was convicted.
