I bet if the Vancouver police started gunning down the crowd with machine guns, and didn't stop until their cartridges were empty, the riots would have ended in a hurry. A few hundred or even a few thousand people wouldn't have been missed. Move along.

The Cops didn't expect it and were unprepared. There was huge gatherings downtown for the past 2 months and there weren't any major incidents.They should have and it cost us.
The problem with Vancouver is there is only a few ways in and out of the core and they shut down a few majors causing a overload on the remaining skytrain which couldn't handle it.
I think for having over 100 k jammed,they did what they could.
It was Anarchists dressed as fans equipped with weapons,gas and masks who did the looting and major damage,as well as a bunch of drunk stoned wannabe punks
