Maybe you are not promoting the right stuff. Sales for me even after just a few months of blogging are good for me, and several programs are doing outstanding right now.
MOST Programs are failing hard, while a few are doing incredibly well and growing.

Every fucking day I see some program bragging about $100 PPS, $200PPS.
That is stupid as fuck all shit, usually the content is not exclusive, the program uses 1 click upgrade tricks, they cross sale the consumers and sell out the email addresses. Fuck that...
Sorry those programs shit all over the consumer and the consumer knows it, and you know it. So why do that to people? Seriously the content is the same shit on most pay sites from the same 3-5 main providers in canned content deals, not to mention, the tours are old, the program is old, they have no support. WTF DO YOU EXPECT?
I spend a lot of time looking at sites and programs and you are right. a good portion of the industry is sucking ass, and they fucking deserve it. I hope they die horribly of rectal cancer. You just got to be more discerning in what you promote.
So say most of you are promoting shit for brain websites you deserve shit for brains income.
I have very simple rules when promoting a programs:
They shoot exclusive?
They Have newer tours?
They do cross sales? Got leaks on tour?
I promote programs with no cross sales, no pops, exclusive content ONLY, with updated tours and active support. If a programs is missing any of those I will not fucking touch it.
And lastly and most importantly ask yourself this simple question...
IF YOU WOULD NOT FUCKING BUY IT THEN ITS NOT WORTH PROMOTING
