Not sure about a tsunami in the Caribbean. I lived there for over 10 years, between St Martin/St Maarten, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Dominican Republic, St Barths and even some time on Saba.
Depending on what you are looking for, there may be many choices.
-St Martin is cool if you want a mix of nightlife/casinos/restaurants and beaches.
-Anguilla is great if you just want peace and quiet on stunning beaches.
-St Barths is great for boutique hotels, luxury and shopping/restaurants.
-Guadeloupe and Martinique have some magnificent scenery that could almost rival Hawaii but the hotels/food and shopping sucks for the most part and they hate tourists.
-Dominican Republic is a hit or miss, toward Punta Cana there are some great places but you have to be careful once you set out of the tourist area.
-Saba is ok for a couple of days, better bring reading material as there is pretty much nothing to do beside some nature's watching and some walking.
-You have St Kitts and Nevis, somewhat interesting but nothing out of the ordinary.
-Antigua is like St Martin but much less to do and see.
-US Virgin Islands have nice places to visit but it is plagued by crime, in St Thomas you can walk from a $1k a night hotel room to a crack house in less time than it takes a premature ejaculator to cum...
-Barbados is a little fun if you are found of British style old houses and nice beaches, but it's mostly expensive and really not worth the extra cost.
-Jamaica has great places but it is very unsafe, even worst that the DR.
-St Lucia is cool, nice resorts and nice setting, but a bit on the boring side for the night life and not much outside of the tourist zones.
-Dominica is good if you like nature and wild areas, not many people live there and it is a bit of the beaten track.
-Aruba has some nice beaches and hotels but that's it.
-Curacao is industrial on one side and somewhat touristy on the other side. I wouldn't want to go back there.
-Bonaire is pretty cool especially if you like diving.

All in all, I would choose St Martin. It has a bit of everything, the only issue is that it is small and crowded, so unless you want to go to hotels like La Samanna which will cost you an arm and 2 legs, you will not get peace. But you will get cheap, very cheap booze, dirt cheap cigarettes and if you are so inclined cheap and mostly beautiful legal "Hoes"...
