In pagan cultures we had these rites of passage and a young man, 13 or so would be given a prostitute or a woman from a temple that was to take his virginity. I think it is one of the good practices that was taken away when the Judeo/Christian religions took over.
I think it's good to get the actual act out of the way so they can see it's no big deal. Otherwise they may get fixated on sex with the perfect woman, as our culture is constantly telling us we need the big boobed playboy model and I think younger males fall for this more.
I do think it should be a 1 time deal. Buying your son a prostitute every year or something would be fucked up. Of course we have different laws now so I wouldn't advice anyone to do this.
