I use a similar Microsoft wireless mouse / keyboard
My wife hates it, because it doesn't fit her hand and is "heavy" as you suggest
I have it because my desks are glass-topped and I don't like cables cluttering them up...
Having to put fresh AA batteries in the devices half-a-dozen times a year sucks though
