the problem with "spam" is that a lot of people label something spam..that shouldnt be
you can collect emails the right way, and get permission to email someone in exchange for access to some service etc...and then those people who you gave access turn around and mark you as a spammer when you email them.
why not hold those people liable as well? it makes no sense.
the only way to combat spam is to watch your own shit...i mark stuff as spam in thunderbird, and these days i just press mass delete of stuff marked junk..it leaves me with about 5 emails to delete after that
also i make rules for all emails i get...so they are sorted right away
