He was in charge of the IMF i.e. debt warfare. The IMF is there to get countries into debt and then when they cannot meet their repayments they take the assets. It's not a nice thing
The powers of the world make money appear out of thin air, they don't need more money, instead they want control and assets. They use the IMF to give out money that has been created out of thin air, then once a country cannot meet their repayments, they say give us your assets instead.
I suspect that Strauss-Kahn did something to upset the elite bankers
