We had a Hindu ceremony when we got married, we go to a Jewish Temple on the high holy days, a few times a year, and a Hindu temple a few times a year on their holy days, and we will raise our son (due in August) in both Jewish and Hindu philosophy, but she wanted him to be born Jewish so that he had the choice to be Jewish or not without having to convert.

Interesting. Her parents must be dead or very progressive. its pretty cool that you can both respect each others beliefs. many can't seem to. however, and this is just my personal belief, that your son should be able to call himself jewish without having to go through whatever rituals. being jewish is not just about religion after all.
